Good quality with suitable lighting conditions - even if not classic 24/7-Actioncam

That there is a panacea for the Actioncams - now, of the idea I said goodbye with the GoPro Hero 3 Black Edition. This was recently still the flagship of the GoPro series (now superseded by a Plus model) and gave me innately nothing but trouble with wireless disconnections, hangers and an overwhelmed-helpless Support. As well as the excellent image does not change the fact that a very fast time flies joy ... The Garmin is priced now appealing to some - let's see if they can keep up with the high halfway GoPro.

Before you decide on an Action Cam, you should of course first of all think about exactly where their specific purpose is to lie. I jump (not more) parachute, am not cross bikers, skateboarders or otherwise attached a sport that delivers the most impressive action cam video. But I wanted to shoot at / in the following situations:

- While driving - either as dashcam or externally mounted for rapid rides on a closed track
- Playing golf - the swing correction
- In the gym - for retrospective monitoring my movement execution for devices

Why action and not normal Cam? Size and wide angle - just at the gym an argument, because it would look rather strange if I'd suddenly build a tripod ...

Now: When driving I have the Garmin Virb date can not really test - there is indeed an appropriate adapter, but looks more shaky. If a part that would fly around the ears at> 200 km / h, that would be very funny neither for the car nor for any audience ... As the GoPro has an excellent suction cup that does not cause problems even at high speeds.

Off to the gym, so. Here me the Virb has prepared really great pleasure! The camera can be put directly on the devices and films reliably. Thanks to wide-angle is all important in the picture. The large on / off switch provides a much higher usability than the GoPro, in which the knobs rather always remember mice piano. In appropriate lighting conditions the image quality at the highest setting stage is absolutely sufficient. In direct comparison to the GoPro (with the same settings), although still a little behind limping, but somehow the price difference must explain indeed.

In this respect, a more or less clear recommendation profile for Virb becoming apparent to me: If you want to associate the device with other Garmin equipment, or an attractively priced solution examines the Garmin is really not bad. Ins competition camp (GoPro) I would, however, then squint, when it comes to available light Videography, you need really brilliant definition video, or if you want to draw on the extensive equipment of the GoPro series.

Summa sumarum can I give the peace of mind Virb four stars because the price / performance ratio fits in my eyes.
