And to advance to take:
We no longer want the Melitta Caffeo CI miss. The coffee flavor is excellent; currently we are testing a bit, but the Lavazza decaffeinated is very good, just like the Melitta Caffee cream and the Melitta Espresso. But we will still need to enter as much territory.
(Hello coffee roaster, there are smaller units than 1kg ...)
Our daughter is delighted with the milk froth - Hot milk function.
We drink 100% of our coffee with milk or milk foam, cappuccino or latte macchiato mostly, but then also Espresso with a dash of milk.
After each brewing and use of milk the machine for "Easy Cleaning" exhorts to rinse the milk unit. This takes about 15 seconds and rinse the milk unit after use.
Again - as regards the coffee taste and preparation Caffeo is great.
Unfortunately, the little machine also a few drawbacks:
- The coffee could be quite hot, on the adjustable "Hot" - stage. But here is really personal preference in demand because people have referred to the coffee to be very or extremely hot with us.
- The water tank is small. Since a lot of water during the brewing process does not end up in the cup, which is also quickly empty. But this is
- The drip tray for excess water and the coffee grounds and small want to be happy and often emptied.
What a buyer of these items needs to understand:
(Fair to say that we have no comparison, if the other machine is more or less):
- Every week I take out the brewing unit and rinse it off with water. And I also clean the inside of the machine. It sticks before coffee on the walls, this is after a few days then not so hygienic. Total coffee rest is not really appetizing somewhere in a such a machine.
- Every 8 to 10 days to be made a "Intensive Cleaning" of the dairy unit. This requires (buying) one (only the, otherwise your machine the hell --- admonishes company Melitta ;-)) a cleaning liquid from Melitta, with which the machine is (in particular the dairy unit flushes).
- Every 3 5 weeks asking the machine to "clean" ... With an original Melitta cleaning tablet, the entire machine is cleaned and rinsed (Take only, otherwise your machine the hell --- admonishes Melitta ;-)).
The described "rausnehmen brewing unit" under weekly process not eliminated thereby.
- So far, even the lady wanted to be ... then decalcified (Record only, otherwise your machine is .... Yes, you guessed it ...) The interval, this action is very varied, depending on the water quality.
- With an original Melitta water filter against lime can but the protracted and often make less. (Business ... etc etc)
- The descaling of an original Melitta Entkalkertablette needed did I mention ???
- The milk hose is for frequent use and despite all the cleaning a little hazy. I'll then go through under the tap hot water, then goes again.
A few more goodies at the end:
+++ One can take out the brewing unit is excellent and does not have all the equipment. But if MMN urgent need to clean the brewing unit properly. Should anyone opt for a different brand or a different device, it should nevertheless ensure that it is possible.
+++ The machine shows you what is necessary (cleaning, descaling etc. ...) and can then have enough time, so on the machine is not directly in the "Bucky" mode. There are other products where nothing works after an error message until you have not taken the prescribed cleaning interval.
+++ The machine is (through the small water tank and the small receiver ;-)) compact and not as wide. Power, however good in the kitchen ...
Last note:
I've been at this for one of my Samstagsbeschäftigungne (15 minutes Melitta service) and can thus find my coffee center. ;-)
If the Caffeo again in the middle of brewing emptied (receptacle) or filled (water tank) will be, I'm there already less deeply relaxed.
Especially in the morning ...
Another tip - the evening before bedtime again collecting tank empty, water pure, coffee refill, then there is no morning assaults against harmless coffee machines ...
Review:
4 stars because the coffee is great and delicious; 1 star less because of the above points.
UPDATE AFTER 12 MONTHS
After about 12 months now, a couple of thousand "remuneration" as read in the machine software as the saying goes, we are still very satisfied with the quality of the coffee in all variations.
Nevertheless, a few comments on the supplement.
- The coffee is now hot enough. It may be due to the habit, but the temperature is felt higher than at the beginning.
- If possible, the milk should of course not be processed directly from the refrigerator. Of course, the lower the temperature in cappuccino and latte significantly or the milk foam temperature of milk to room temperature warmer.
- We clean the machine completely (group head out, rinse, aspirate put inside and clean, cleaning rod and "Intensive Cleaning" - liquid) at least every 2 weeks. This should be also for hygienic reasons as the maximum distance. Unfortunately, sat down, as already described above, always coffee remains somewhere in the machine fixed, the then Hinsch immeln right if you are not careful. (Has not happened yet, fortunately)
- The milk tube is now completely dull and no longer looks so beautiful. We will replace it.
- Properly adjust the water tank always above. If that is not the case due to carelessness, "flips" the electronics and tries brew nonexistent water (and pushes very hot water residues from the nozzles out !!!).
This leads to severe error messages on the display (which have no connection to the water tank) - but that might be a bug in our machine.
All other points remain in the review are made:
- The water tank and the collector are still too small. ;-)
- The cleaning interval is short, a part I do but now shorter than asking the machine to do so.
- For cleaning tablets and milk cleanser, there are products from other manufacturers great, but Melitta has so made me a fear ;-)
Meanwhile, my last act is before bedtime, the coffee machines - Preparing for the next day.
Therefore, it has still been no evil attacks on our "kitchen friend" ...

The machine is still running, I'm still a fan. We are now at about 9,000 "compensation" and technically there is no problem.
But cleaning is an issue. This must and should be done in a regular rhythm ...
Maybe a few tips yet:
It is-as I said - great that the entire brewing unit can be taken out to clean the machine. This is also relatively fast, which is rinsed and well ...
Unfortunately, however, are in the machine some corners where settles coffee.
For example, if one black thing in the middle (whatever that may be - probably a filter holder) and then withdraws behind in the space goes in with a cloth, one experiences his "brown" miracle ...
In addition, the transport wheel dirty behind the brewing unit and the underlying, unfortunately elegant with my paws hard to reach space.
So either a thin cloth, cotton swab or ausfummeln - Thanks for the tip, Elke - Rinse the irrigator.
That with the irrigator I have not indeed made, but only because of the fun I'd like to try ...
Only after a time, I have found that you can take out the drip tray almost completely apart, and then the red indicator (the button ...) and the area as you can make neat clean underneath. Therefore you have to arrange the covering carefully to avoid breaking off nothing. Then you get the drip tray also completely clean.
Another tip - after the experience of the last few months, where you can find everything old coffee residue in the machine ...
