With "What Matters Now" Gary Hamel goes far beyond what is commonly found in so-called "business books". Hamel proves shrewd analyst of the economic, social and socio-psychological situation of Western industrial society. His thoughts mark a clean break from the often heard cliché. His analyzes are not exhausted in mere lamentations over grievances. Rather, it shows ways in which the main difficulties and obstacles could be overcome. - "What matters now" is a radical book in the sense that Hamel tried to the real causes (root = / radix) get hold of entrepreneurial problems. And this succeeds very well in many areas. Only the chapter on "Adaptability" justifies buying and reading. - Of all the economic nonfiction I have read in the past ten years, this is by far the best!
