This CD is one of my favorite CD's by Depeche Mode. Back then the world was electronically-in-order. In chronological order seen, a sophisticated and technically very sophisticated CD. The tinny sounds from the "Some Great Reward" times are rounded, the Bombastik (megalomania ?!) from the "Music For The Masses" eradicated, and so reveals a beautiful, balanced CD - without becoming boring. "Personal Jesus", "Enjoy The Silence" and "Policy of Truth" were the hits of the CD, which certainly brought a lot of new fans of the band. As with any Depeche Mode CD, also on this beautiful ballad, sung by the songwriter Martin L. Gore himself to find, ("Sweetest Perfection", "Blue Dress"). Dave Gahan's voice but also looks great on the slower pieces. However, would a vocally slightly better voice, such as on the "Ultra" CD, better made seven years later. Nevertheless, it shows again and again how complement songwriter and singer, as with much feeling and passion Dave Gahan converts the meaty lyrics of Martin Gore, is always remarkable. Ever this music is something that you not only hear, but also can feel: "Waiting for the night to fall"! (This is an Amazon.com at the university-student review.)
