The night light is working fine. We bought it so we do not ever stumble in the dark hallway of our cats. The motion detector reacts well - In conjunction with the twilight sensor it is great. Illumination is enough for the hall (1.5mx 6m) so that the bottom is clearly visible but not as bright as day. The negative reviews with the "colorful advertisements" I can not understand, my version came with black lettering and logo (see photo).
