If the beginning is surprising and worried me a little, the author quickly corrected this: this will not be a series in which the heroine is sent into the air regularly, this is not the point. It must be said because, well, the first chapter could be a little scared.
It's a demon story, so exit vampires and shapeshifters (at least for the moment, I promises nothing on suite) and there is a beautiful mythology behind. Pity that the author does not elaborate this point.
Finally, I generally liked but he still has to have a few things that are not quite accomplished. But I think it was because his first novel My Life as a White Trash Zombie (also great) is working.
There, the heroine is very engaging, very mature, she has a little experience in the police but nevertheless will begin its first investigation of a violent crime. Strong and independent, she takes great pride and pleasure of its status summoner. But it also means it has something to hide, which will not be evident when an FBI agent will blend the game.
The atmosphere of the police is pretty well rendered - with not always friendly colleges - but once again I find that the author is over too.
All stands but I know what bothers me ... too little! I want more. This is truly what I miss most here. I still wait. Yet the survey, even the devil and still groping Kara.
There is a point that is raised about the FBI, but that is not deepened later, I winced a little. But I especially want that ... jump on later.
Many tracks are barely touched upon and we guess a story with the famous FBI agent, but it remains on our end. We now know if it's a problem on the part of the perpetrator or because she wants to keep the mystery.
Question writing is rather simple, less mastered maybe some others, but I do not mind at all, on the contrary scroll pages themselves.
I'll let you know about the following volumes on which I fishy!
