Other evaluators, who believe the game was devoid of tension, logic, entertainment value, etc. have discovered in my opinion, not completely the tactical possibilities, which belongs to the Kingdom Builder cards and the special offers of "location tiles". The fact that they are newly drawn for each game (and a game actually no longer 30-60 minute takes, of course, depending on number of players and "Grübel factor"), and also the board for each batch is re-compiled, can also not every game round is equal to rated and offers a high replayability factor.
Other games of the year such as Qwirkle, Keltis, train to train, Tikal, risk, among others also offer not just the here often criticized "lack of interactivity with other players." Everyone plays on its own that must also not necessarily indicate a bad game.
Fans of works such as Settlers of Catan, pandemic etc. which thirsts for a high level of interactivity, however, are ill advised at this game.
Tacticians and strategists should this game rather satisfied, also from the point that this game is really no full-length thing, but a "revenge" time is always there;)
Conclusion:
I like the game, you have this kind of games like (unpredictable luck factor in Kartenzug, but also in games like Settlers can have enormous cube pitch, the more I find it challenging, if time permits, the rule that most of the "bad" cards making), for me a good game, but not a game of the year. (Mind you, this is Qwirkle for me either, but what can you do.)
A game that makes fun, but has not really fit into any of games (not because it was awarded SdJ).
