I have written a few years ago when I wanted to bring only cheap kitchen knife quickly spruced up this review. Meanwhile, I have a couple of high-quality knife, which I would not expect the AnySharp. As described in other Rezensienten can be seen when viewed with a magnifying glass, that the blade is tasächlich actually ruined: there is more tearing on a square steel as a raise by producing a sharp edge. The knives feel like it as sharp, but saw more than they cut. For allerbilligste kitchen knife possibly a solution when you have no time absolutely, but a bit better knives I would not expect the AnySharp today. I therefore values the product from 4 to 2 stars.
--- Old review with a couple of comments -
The sharpener works as described, but:
- The blade is rather irregularly scraped ground instead, the cutting is actually rather ruined - but felt the knife is then better than before (when it was dull)
- You need a smooth firm surface (glass, smooth Platik or steel) for fastening
- The angle is fixed, that is to use all blades have the same cutting geometry
- For knives which have not just cutting it is not easy to pull the knife from the shaft just to tip evenly
- Unconventional handle or blade shapes can not be sanded ansatzlos (from stem to tip) due to the wide surface (not inclined start possible)
The AnySharp is good because a knife when grinding one can hardly ruin (at least less than with a false used grindstone), that is particularly suitable for grinding laity (as I am one). People, for the knives and their care are more of a hobby will probably be happier with a different abrasive solution.
