Panasonic, time away from the big compact camera brands.

***** ***** The history
After I wrecked my Canon digital camera on vacation (Canon PowerShot SX230 HS) I needed a new camera and quite urgent. The birth of our child is supposed to be super detained.

I rolled and considering what Canon, Nikon, Sony, it should be the test reports. Panasonic was for me always a more or less unknown quantity when it comes to photography.

The big day came closer and I was not finished with the test reports, as my wife came home with a Samsung touch screen camera from shopping. "NEIMALS" I thought, because the image quality has suffered seemingly under the "poor" seriously.

Immediately exchanged !!! The seller asked me not even what camera should be there, so angry I have looked well after failing to buy the woman.

My Canon had a super lousy variables battery, which gave up the ghost after all 40-50 minutes. Therefore please a camera with no frills like GPS etc. and good photos shoots. Then I jumped this Panasonic DMC-TZ36 eye.

I have to say this camera is the best compact camera I've ever got to hold in his hands.

- Picture quality is good !!
- Battery lasts when continuously films connected with a display 2 hours (specially tested) !!
- Replacement batteries are also affordable
- Things that just suck only battery, this camera has not at first !! (No Touch, WiFi, GPS) and I mean that quite positive !!

Who wants to shoot purely good photos, and do not want to endorse the change 4 batteries, is well advised with this camera!

Also for your holiday, this camera is desinged because the microphone is placed on top of the camera. So that you do not face down when shooting. With the Focus "pump" (random to focus during filming) you have to live, unfortunately. This autofocus when shooting can not be turned off, unfortunately. But it is enough for Urlaubsimpressionen all times.

***** The Menu *****
Why do I mention this? There were always problems with our previous camera the Canon PowerShot SX230 HS with the illogical menu system.
The menu seems to me fully thought through with this camera. It is also fast to the main menu in order to individual parameters to operate tweaking. And you can easily return to shoot photo.

My wife was so busy at the hospital, that we hardly have photos now ... xD
