Practical cycle computer with various weaknesses

Pill ade - whether because of infertility or prevention, it makes sense to determine the fertile and infertile days. Of course you can also equipped with a thermometer, alarm clock (as a temporal rhythm should be maintained) and make pen and paper as well. But for one cycle computer as Cyclotest simply speaks the alarm clock, the one automatically recalls the right time and, above all, that you can measure and quasi then can go back to sleep, because the result is stored. Because if you get up early during the week and at the weekend, for example but wants time to sleep a little longer, so you can at the usual time measure be directly awake and to have the temperature without even realizing. This is for lazy people like me a decisive advantage for the Cyclotest)

So if you have chosen this type, so it is with this product prior to the next question: cyclotest 2 plus or cyclotest baby? Sure, you might think: cyclotest 2 plus to prevent and cyclotest baby at fertility! But what is exactly the difference except in the name and the color scheme? Cyclotest baby is supplied with a connecting cable for the PC and the corresponding software, which allows to print the current cycle (oh yes, and a sample of "cyclotest fertile woman" - micronutrients for women who want to get pregnant - is even with the Baggage). With cyclotest 2 plus have this software in addition to 29 to buy: cyclotest 065 501 Control Software - special accessory for cyclotest 2 plus (!). The decision is therefore quite simple: Even though I currently use Cyclotest for preventing, I opted for the pink "Cyclotest Baby" version, because it is slightly more expensive so Cyclotest contains 2 Plus and the software already.

By using Cyclotest should start on the first day of the cycle. This is recommended in the manual so. Although you can also specify that the cycle has already started and set the current cycle, but this is only possible up to 15 days.

Until Cyclotest can estimate the cycle of women correctly, the device needs according to instruction 6 months. This should be considered when any of his selection and appointment, as some certainly think they order the device and away you go. In these first 6 months are simply more fertile days displayed until the machine cycle can narrow down precisely.

Somewhat annoying is both the manual and the operation of the device. Some places are simply confusing (in the manual) and could be highlighted more clearly and / explained. The adjustment of the instrument is in my eyes not optimal: Firstly, I find pressure points of the keys (especially the arrow keys) bad (sometimes it works directly, sometimes I have the key but also press repeatedly until something happens) and the other one would have at the size of the device but, for example, not have to work so nested if you connect the device to your PC. For here, among other things, the cycle start button must be pressed - but in the manual, they also must not be pressed too long, otherwise you will start a new cycle. What is that please? This action can then no longer be undone and that I find less than optimal. Therefore, it would be nice if would not skimp on another button and possibly the keys would still labeled, then everything would be somewhat self-explanatory ...

In Cyclotest is indeed advertised that you have no follow-up costs. However, the device must be returned to the manufacturer to replace the battery after about 500 measurements of 20 (there is the medical checks also equal to the reliable functioning). While this is not the world, but should be mentioned openly in my opinion, since with such a device but only once assumes that you can change the battery yourself.

In short, here again the most important at a glance:

+ Alarm Clock included, so that you will not forget the regular fairs (can be disabled)
+ Temperature is saved (and you can go back to sleep if necessary even) and have not noticed or recorded directly to
+ With cyclotest software is included. With which you can view and print the current cycle on PC
+ Can be used both for prevention as well as in fertility

- Manual could be made more user-friendly
- Pressure points of the buttons are bad
- Insufficient key (eg no separate alarm button, etc.) / cumbersome key combination can delete the current cycle!
- Follow-up costs because the device must be returned to the battery change (does not matter, but you should know)

To "effect" of the device / reliability of the device with respect to the (un) fertile days I can not say much at the moment, but as I have already prevented before symptothermal and not became pregnant, this method is definitely for me an alternative to the hormones.

CONCLUSION: Practical device, especially when one morning just exhibitions and not just to address it wants (which one can possibly still make during the day). Although also has some weaknesses (which could be improved) but overall still a worthwhile investment.

UPDATE 08/08/12: So far I have not become pregnant thanks Cyclotest baby (yes I use it for the Prevention). The display is always accurate. So the "effect" of the device is so far completely iO;)

UPDATE 09/02/13: I can still report anything negative about the "effect" of the device. Nevertheless, I will stay with 3 stars, because the device does have room for improvement. Furthermore, I am relying on my own observations now additionally (Temp + body.) - But what if you put well after a while, with this issue apart, is normal.
