Compared to the JBL Sonnet 2.1, which I had previously connected, there are already quite significant differences to hear even though the JBL less than 1/3 as large as the Creative. The price is the same as far as the T20, only the JBL are already seven years old. They sound clear, clear, brilliant and more balanced (of course in the bass anyway, because the subwoofer).
*** To the sound of the T20: ***
The highs sound quite pleasant but the brilliance is missing. The centers have sound discolouration. Women and higher male voices sound somewhat powerless, narrow and slightly too bright.
Beats come as even better over, but alas they have too much momentum and clout, the system is overwhelmed and swallowed or distorted the respective frequency range. Otherwise, the high-midrange sounds still balanced enough.
Bass sound mostly unpleasant booming because they are pronounced in the upper frequency range. The bass is, due to the missing subwoofer, too weak. But what is a 2.0 yet satisfactory, because you can perceive the bass up to a certain frequency still quiet. Pleasant sound as the Bose Companion 2. Unfortunately, this suffering but above a certain volume at a very weak level stability and tend to a pumping sound.
Suitable the T20 are wonderful for pop and electronic music. For rock bass rumbles too bad, for hip-hop bass is too weak. Movie watchers will miss a lot of dynamism and spatiality. Classical listeners will enjoy sometimes angry now and then occurring distortion and resonances arising as voluminous piano sounds or string or wind instruments.
Praiseworthy is in spite of the liveliness and the channel separation. Although the bass reflex openings at the tops like a good idea at first glance, but if you just sit with his eavesdroppers before, it sounds unpleasant, since the bass resounds along the shortest path to the wall (if the PC-table on should be a wall), and then subsequently to reach the ear.
A more positive tone image is produced when you stand a few meters away from the boxes. Because they no longer roar so and the bass sounds pleasant because it until it reaches the ear, can unfold in space, even further. But these are PC speakers and the times are now close to the screen, in front of the audience.
**** Conclusion ****
Overall, the T20 sound for listening to music the way yet balanced enough. But to wondrous sound experience you can not get. Though large, the sound unfolds not nearly as great as in the models of JBL that sound clearly free. Even the kick in the beats and the bass punch is missing. But one may expect from the 99 at a recommended retail price?
Comparing the T20 priced at about the Wavemaster MX-3 + (RRP 50), the JBL Sonet (90) or the Hama Q1000 (RRP 90), so you get unfortunately sound of the T20 II less necessary. Space-saving or not, of a rich sound in the price range between 50 and 100 are the T20 II a bit far away.
Even the middle, representing the biggest weakness in 2.1 systems, sound somewhat unbalanced even with the T20. Then you should think twice about whether you do not prefer but a 2.1 is on the table.
However, less picky listeners will still be happy with the T20. You do not need a lot of space, are easy to use and sound perfectly acceptable if you're not too badly screwed his claims up. The current price of 65 is just about ok.

**** **** Alternatives
Logitech Z10 2.0: Blade brilliant and have a precise but not much deeper bass. A sound card is installed. Some software may but might lead to problems and the service is a bit strange. In addition, about 15% of processing power is required when you connect via USB (until you can use all the bells and whistles). Price approx 90th
JBL Spot 2.1: are very small (the subwoofer), sound balanced and look better. But do not have a headphone and line-in jack. Are easy to install and are free of any frills. Price approx 100th
