I had two years ago already such holder (Luxa²) for my former HP touchpad, but I did then sold with the tablet.
The difference between the R1 and the Luxa² is at first glance certainly in the two movable joints of R1.
This made more possible variations, however, the holder is very unstable or fall as much as when rotating the lower joint too much backwards.
In addition, the Luxa² a Tablet was able through its gripping arms tightly "cling" to, so that you could use and highly cross.
This is not possible without a removal and turning the unit in Satechi R1.
Otherwise, the holder, there is no more shame.
The workmanship is very good, the selected full-aluminum is very high and the tablet is well protected by foam rubber inserts.
Even the included carrying bag contributes to the good overall impression in quality and feel.
Very negative, I was surprised by the pricing of Satechi, of which I have received the device for testing.
After further inquiry me the price of currently 50 was said was justified due to the choice of materials and quality.
Even after the notice of me the price has not been adjusted.
I prefer for my opinion far too high set price therefore from smooth 3 stars.
Priced at under 40 I would revise to three stars, at a price below 30 four stars.
For 25 or less, the device would have also earned five stars.
I hope this review could assist you in your buying decision
