What makes the musician who has timbered with a side project called Avantasia two absolutely brilliant metal albums that have already achieved almost a classic status? Right! Sooner or later, he produced a sequel. And either it creates the impossible and has his own masterpiece, or he goes swimming. And with the taste Lost in Space 1 & 2 is a clear certainly. If The Scarcrow is mixed also how these two EP's, then the album certainly is not a new milestone. But first things first. The first song Lost in Space reminds me a bit to Save me, from the last album Edguy Rocket Ride. Somehow too trendy, indeed quite a nice chorus, not bad at all, but then again without any eggs. A song of one either like it or you do not. For my taste it is too shallow and a favor Mr. Sammet has not even done with the song as a single. So it only stirs up the envy and opponents who say you go the commercial way. The second follows with Promised Land a somewhat überaschungsarmer, but still harder track in which to make the guest vocals of Jorn Lande a positive impact. Overall, I would classify the track somewhere in The Savage Union and Holy Water. So this sort Edguy - songs that are not bad, but still miles away from the bearers. Then follows with Dancing with Tears in My Eyes a cover. Runs ebenmfalls under: Quite nice, but not a human being needs. Then could even now each start covers any songs and sell them as metal version. Musically is a really not a lot on offer. Then follows with a short three and a half minute film Scary Eyes after the usual formulaic structure. One would think such things writes Mr. Sammet now at breakfast. In My Denfence is also a cover and a balladesque piece that certainly knows how to please. (Granted, I know the original is not) As a conclusion there still an alternative version of Lost in Space. And even if this means it is is Alive at Gate Studios is one here, after all, not just cut the normal version as a studio session around the ears, but one worth listening to acoustic version that I like almost better was polished than the original and with vocals from Amanda Sommerville. So kind of like the Super Heroes variant of the same EP. Same song, but totally different result.
Musically therefore mostly very mixed, not bad, but we're talking about, after all, considered under the light, that it should be only a prelude to the new album from AVANTASIA and disappointed as Lost in Space itself.
Oh yes. The video which you can view on Amazon here, then there's also on the CD. Is indeed a great bonus for me as a fan, if the thing is anyway to see for free. Thank-You.
