After 2 albums in 1983 put Manowar equal to 1984 with "Sign of the Hammer". The critics and the audience were taken aback because even the third album in this short period of time is a hammer. As opener, take this time a mid-tempo song with a catchy chorus, "All Men Play on 10". A fast song should not be missing and so they send with "Animals" a rather simple song (first class!) For, with the only weakness in the final. "Thor" is idolized by some, misunderstood by others. This song is just as difficult to assess "The Oath". As with "Into Glory Ride" is the fourth track on "Sign Of The Hammer" an epic anthem, namely "Mountains". Once again they manage a simply brilliant, albeit quieter song with depth. "Sign of the Hammer" strikes after this song as a flash, a song with power and great chorus. The completion of the album is reminiscent of "Battle Hymns", because with "Thunder Pick" Joey is again in a bass solo can be award to then collected team the album in the form of "Guyana" a brutal, epic and Manowar anthems typical to give statements. All in all a great album! 5 Stars!
