Especially as the coalition has granted the assistance of a man, a traitor to the troubles motives and not just any one of designers amicerveaux, the stand, the indispensable companion of FDC including ghost brigades, special forces.
In this episode, it no longer follows the adventures of Perry but these prefabricated super-soldiers and assisted by semi-organic computer. The nature of these forces is known to us from the revelations of a tome.
More talkative and more technical than the first game, we find the missing explanations and welcome to the background and development of colonial union, the genesis and nature of the FDC. We do not neglect the military action, always with the scalzi style, serious but not humorless (on the other hand, almost all the books of military sf have this penchant for military humor basis (the exception may be the books of the Warhammer 40,000 license).
The book is also sprinkled with a lot of references to iconic works of sf. (A small pleasure for stronger science fictionneurs delighted to say, ah, those, I have already read).
Always so nice to read, action, humor, reflection on the human condition and its future.
