If you make the choice of a USB key to take advantage of the recording (TimeShift or standard), you must use a USB key to good capacity (minimum 4GB) and especially write performance (real-time recording optimum application support a large flow of data per second) if you do not want to have constant interruptions from reading your recordings.
Personally, my choice was directed to USB 'Corsair Flash Voyager (GT)' 16GB [...] I am very happy.
Hard drives are a priori capable of handling all the recording ... I personally recommend the Western Digital WD Elements series (many capabilities are available) which has still to this day, the best compromise between price, quality and capacity / RELIABILITY (silent, not heating).
Functional level / ergonomics, I have no complaints about this unit. Upon its release, this decoder showed some small instabilities, particularly at the time of synchronization with the TNT network ... After reporting the problem to the manufacturer, it was explained in detail the problem and promised a fix in the coming days; The solution was provided as promised. Terms part of the few manufacturers to offer fixes for these devices (even long after they leave), it is important to think about download and install these updates to make your device more stable and thus make the most of. The latest firmware updates for the CGV Premio ST3 / ST5 are available from the manufacturer's website: cgv.fr (product file, downloads ...).
The remote is not too bad, except maybe for playback features videos / recordings: I find the keys Play / Pause, Rewind / Fast Forward, etc. too small ...
The tuner seems to be good: after a year of almost daily use, I have seen no jerkiness or stall (or that came from the chain) on any of the proposed channels.
After 1 year of daily use, apart from a few problems later corrected by the patches and a search for long chains of 5 minutes (!), I was not disappointed with my purchase and I think you it will not (after update). My only regret: the design of the interface (menu), which remains the same; too simple for my taste (I would say that it lacks a bit of gloss effect, ca recall some GUI programs for Windows 98/2000); short, it is not the most important.
