I play WoW since the beginning, but with declining enthusiasm. That's why I changed in recent years, more and more apparent to alternatives, but ultimately were nothing but an even better, once poorer imitation of WoW. Only EverQuest 2 (Crafting, Exploring) and Age of Conan (innovative combat system, Setting) could inspire me for a while.
I had the opportunity to go into Star Trek Online from mid-December 2009 and have the time in this game - all minor technical deficiencies, bugs and inconsistencies in defiance - again so enjoyed my time as the Final Beta of Word of Warcraft - my best time in the now well-25s "career" as a gamer.
It is for a mix of these different entertainments that engages well with each other, the opportunity to play both alone and with friends - very cool, I find the random group compiling the server in certain missions. Then the formerly cozy few opponents become powerful fleets with multiple weapons defying and dangerous thick battle cruisers, group match is mandatory. Gone are the times when you spent hours and hours in the "Looking for Group" -channels an MMO, and thus wasting valuable time of his life.
The graphic part of the most beautiful things I've ever seen in a MMO, the optics in space liquid running since it was bought due to some technical tricks, but that did not bother me - the overall impression counts. Also worth mentioning is the possibility of customization of characters, you indeed arises over time a five piece band together - Captain plus four bridge officers.
But what is still the stool skin me - besides the bombastic staging - the variety is the ways around zutunen on his "character". Starting with the Captain, Crit, be conveyed, can be equipped optically changeable (also subsequently ingame), the ship - depending on the selected class and selection science, tactics or engineering - that is changeable with weapons, deflectors, shields and various technology modules, up to the Bridge Offis which are also adjustable and can be terminated, be conveyed, Crit and almost as be equipped as the Captain. The 0815 standard Idealskillung and equipment as in WoW is you are looking for here in vain.
In addition the Trek bonus for fans of acoustic effects, historical digressions, and the original voice of Leonard Nimoy, who congratulated one not only in the ascent to a higher rank (level 11, 21, 31, 41 and 50), but a while game repeatedly narrative, the story retold (goosebumps guarantee for Trekkies).
Hardcore Trekkies will encounter on action-heavy gameplay, although later also wait fantastically staged exploration missions, the characters may still often do not behave ideally in ground combat, technically there are here and there still shortcomings - especially antialiasing works only in a minority, one or the other will disturb the seemingly monotonous gameplay, when it comes, once again, to complete a Quest patrol and "secure" the thousandth system. Those looking for, will be found in STO one or the other fly in the ointment, and unlike any other game it creates STO to split the gamer in Hasseroder absolute fans - there is barely mediocre.
Me and many of my new online friends has STO anyway packed, we look forward to the Head Start on Friday and be sure to experience a wonderful time in this MMO. How long this will last, the Endcontent will show and the will of Cryptic to provide us well beyond Level 50 with exciting content.
