Unfortunately, not really functional

I connected with the punch down CAT5e cable to half a dozen network outlets and as many connections at the patch panel. The Punch has thereby functioning properly and does it still. But then I wanted to test with the cable tester connections and am almost desperate because he gave me incorrect times Pins 1 and 3 appears again. Luckily, I'm eventually came up with the idea of ​​testing the cable tester using pre-assembled patch cables - and lo and behold: it showed there to the same error. So defect was not the cable, but the cable tester. Very useful, that you only need to test yourself with a cable to cable tester

Amazon was exemplary in the handling of complaints and immediately sent substitute. Five Stars for Amazon! Of course I have tested by the replacement of the first cable tester. And it came as I had feared: The replacement device worked even less than the first! This time believed the cable tester, defective Pins 7, 8 and G to find - also sometimes, but not always pin. 6

The scrap is so well production standard. Unacceptable for a cable tester and value 0 stars. Because the punch down worked well, I give two stars, but with a functional cable tester you should not expect the other two tools I did not use.

Addendum:
Since the replacement was also flawed, but I needed the cable tester, I screwed him and looked for the problem. This was that had been saved to the solder pads for the LED indicators simply to solder. But that was definitely saved in the wrong places, because that is LEDs triggered partly by the soldering point and lost contact. After I had nachgelötet the soldering points, the device worked as expected. For me, the purpose was thus indeed fulfilled - but it is, of course, not really a solution to repair an appliance after receipt once!
