The setting up of the stand is easy. In no time you have extended the legs of the tripod, on and disengaged by simply turning, and set to Wunschöhe (max. 138cm). Everything is now clear and stable. The camera is quickly bolted to the removable intermediate plate and finally the ball head. The included Allen needs this not be used because the intermediate plate has a very clever screw with "finger-turning Henkel". The adjustment of the camera is a real pleasure, this help 3 little bubble levels. The 360 degrees ball head works very well can also be screw fixed. If you want 90 degrees (towards the bottom) photograph, the center column is almost always seen in the image. This can be very simply unscrew. At her extra weight can be added by the way weight-hook to withstand against wind etc..
The tripod was used previously with the following devices:
Canon 550D + lens (Yashica 230 AF SLR camera + lens (Sony DSC V-1 digital camera (Canon 1D Mark 2 + lens + flash (> 3kg)
The latter has been more commonly used camera out of curiosity, to test the limits of the stand. For such a professional-caliber one should better access to the more expensive brother this tripod. Because especially with flash (400g) and telephoto lens (1500g) weighs the Canon 1D to 4kg. The center column does in the fully extended state in connection with the Canon 20D a slightly unstable impression. The indication of the transferability of the PGA-484, namely 2-5kg I find so rather spongy.
Only the poor manual complaints would, here the different items of the stand are on a very small (and duplicated in countless languages) page numbered and named, while including several model numbers are listed. A little text would not have hurt. Overall, however, the use of Fotopro PGA-484 comes fortunately largely without words.
For me there is due to the simple handling, the accessories and low overall weight 5 stars for a really good travel companion.
