So I've been looking in the past repeatedly for an interesting replacement. Unfortunately, the MX1100 was me not convince it. The MX Performance, however, is again ok, but I feel it but compared to the MX1000 to be inaccurate (even in finer movements) and therefore only have these at home in use. Especially there is the Darkfield Laser (goes on glass) but also every now and then actually practice.
The G700s must be in my case, just make the comparison with the MX1000 and so much the same in advance: the G700s definitely needs to not to hide behind the MX1000.
The Impression
============
The G700s comes in a noble (in my case, but some chemical-smelling) seemingly cardboard box. In addition to the mouse and the now customary nano receiver, is still in a USB cable to recharge the mouse. In addition, an extension cable included, which lt. Logitech is to be used only for the USB receiver, but not for charging the mouse. Also is a Quick Start Guide, CD, there is no more. The latter is now in my eyes but not really bad. The basic driver of the current operating systems will recognize the mouse and without any problems without additional drivers and even the mouse settings can be called up without additional drivers. And because the software anyway from time to time an update is subjected to loads you ultimately anyway the current version of the Support page. Small highlight is the removable AA battery (AA) is a Sanyo Eneloop!
The G700s is (as well as the MX1000) very comfortable to hold. She is noticeably lighter than the MX1000. The sides of the mouse are made of rough, grippy plastic, the top is smooth and the palm sticks actually after prolonged use of the mouse firmly. The buttons are all easily accessible in much. Very unergonomic placed I find only the G11 button (rather centered on the mouse top) without having to change or spraining I see at least no frequent use possibility. Here I find the solution of the thumb button in the thumb rest of the MX performance as a good solution. The total of four! Buttons on the left side above the thumb rest (G4-G7) are quite well so far, only the G4 key is heavily used to for me, since I accidentally press regularly directly overlying G6 button while holding down the G4 key. The switchable (grid / free) and clickable scroll wheel acts with value and is exactly the raster mode is not too noisy.
The Work
============
The precision of the G700s exceeds the MX1000 to lengths, thereby setting with 8,200 DPI is definitely not suitable for Grobmotoriker. ;) About the Logitech software allows the mouse very individually. A special highlight here is for me that you can save setting profiles in the mouse and thus also call on different PCs. So you can eg. As easily a profile for games and create one for work. What I so far also could try: a document created on Mac profile works fine under Windows and vice versa (except you put system-specific commands on the keys). The only requirement for editing the profiles is to install the Logitech software.
Battery I can not say really meaningful. However, I'm not currently believe that the G700s despite Eneloop battery á the initial 30 days to reach eight hours of work of the MX1000 is. Currently, the not yet charged me battery has endured about five days and lights currently already red. However it is also assumed that the Eneloop has not been seriously empty. The mouse was in any case during commissioning even a full battery on. I would therefore currently out of about one week of battery life I should find serious deviations thereof, I deliver the after yet.
Conclusion
=====
The G700s is for me again a really good Logitech mouse. It is generally good in the hand, has a replaceable battery, which is a high-quality Sanyo Eneloop ex factory, and offers extensive configuration options that save in profiles in the mouse and have it take so everywhere. Small drawback is the G11 and the G4 key, which are placed a bit inconvenient for my feeling the G4 key safe only takes a little time to adjust to me. Who emphasis when working on precision and ergonomics as well as a wireless mouse, is well taken care of me G700s. Very much better can it think I do not - hence 5 stars.
