1. the AKG K551 (see review here)
2. These Audio Technica
and 3. the Sony MDR1 (see review here), who ultimately won narrowly to the Audio Technica.
Very sad, especially me, the sound of the headphones very appealed. It is in the best sense, a mixture of Hi-fi / clarity with plenty of details and to a very good amount of bass that still was not too dominant for me (not a monster like Beats Audio, which are apparently going almost exclusively to the bass pressure) , Compared to Sony, he was to me a bit too cool in the sound, the Sony here acts much warmer and "good-natured", but also emphasized detail a little bit less.
From the sound of her I almost preferred it to the Sony, if it were not my main point of criticism:
The high pressure in my ears and the somewhat cheap-looking plastic (but not significantly worse than the Sony).
Perhaps not everyone will have this problem, perhaps is it simply to my head shape, or something else, but after a quarter of an hour, it seemed almost as if my ears "asleep" would, because no more blood could circulate ;-)
That was just too hard - I am every day for an hour to work and on the road back home, because I want to have a good feeling while listening.
Are also accessories is none here, although I can do without one or the other case - particularly if it's just more or less "bag".
I already have an Audio-Technica ATH-CKS90i in-ear headset, with whom I am very happy for 2 years - good cable, great control and good micro to make phone calls and very very horny sound with "solid" bass - in accordance with the advertising designation of Audio Technica - "Solid Bass". I like the sound image of the brand really very happy because it is analytical, yet fun, the bass is bold and present but not dominating or even falsified. For me really the perfect ratio.
Should Audio Technica times a higher quality model with slightly better materials put out, which also still has over-ear headphones, I would blind access, but then the bi Sony will not afford MDR1 good services.
Conclusion:
Really recommendable product I good value for money and absolutely convincing sound - not permanent portable unfortunately for me and maybe a little too much plastic. Just a little work on it, then that!
