The problem is that Panasonic is now unfortunately common that batteries are read by an integrated chip. Missing a battery of this chip, or the programming does not correspond to what the camera expects the battery will be rejected and the camera turns off. With this measure, Panasonic wants to spoon-feed the customers to the very expensive original Panasonic DMW-BLD10E to buy battery for Lumix digital cameras. The price I think, however, for completely coated and so I bought these relatively favorable third-party battery, instead of the expensive original, but my screen showed the message "This battery can not be used" and the camera turned off.
Now as an alternative, I tried this model of "Blumax".
Already on the package you will be pointed out that this is done with no indication of remaining battery capacity. And indeed, the camera is no longer on the display shows the battery symbol. But after all, does the battery, keeping felt like a long time by, as the original.
According imprint 1000mAh stand against 1010mAh available.
If the battery is empty, the camera will stop singing sometime without warning and without trace off.
Since you realize again how important it is but a capacity gauge.
For the function and endurance I forgive considering the amount of 4 stars.
The last star I draw from, as the capacity indicator does not work, which is annoying in some situations. So without full backup battery that should not be on the road.
UPDATE: In October 2011, the first firmware update 1.1 for the GF2 was on and the battery is still supported!
The end customers unfair attitude by Panasonic might reconsider and perhaps call it in future purchasing decisions in memory.
