I have had the insect repellent in southern Africa several times here and applied. It works against mosquito bites very reliable. You should however be aware that DEET attacks some types of plastic. So has, because I have not washed my hands after applying, the gumming my Nexus 4 smartphones resolved, as we the cable of my notebook. Where the sunglasses has touched my skin with DEET, also the paint has dissolved. So be careful and be sure to which these chemicals come in contact.
