As usual with Silva Screen is new recordings, it is therefore not the originals. Most recordings are but managed and faithfully, sometimes they sound a bit cheap, but that's more the case if there are no orchestra recordings but electronic themes.
There the usual suspects for Silva Screen are represented, the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra and the Crouch End Festival Chorus, mostly headed by Nic Raine, and The Daniel Caine Orchestra and others.
The compilation comes from an English point of view, so far unknown in this country are such series as "Doctor Who" represented, German series are missing, but the internationally acclaimed US series are of course included. Everyone will have different favorites, depending on what time you have spent his youth vor'm TV ... My favorites are "Addams Family", "The Avengers" (The Avengers & melon), is naturally funny "Batman" , "Cheers", "Dallas" and "Dynasty" (Dynasty), "Hawaii 5-0", "Knight Rider", "Lost in Space", "Lou Grant", "Magnum PI", "MASH (Suicide is Painless) "," Miami Vice, "" Mission: Impossible, "" Monty Python's Flying Circus (Liberty Bell) "," The Munsters, "" The Outer Limits "," Peter Gunn "Of course," Star Trek "," The Twilight Zone, "" Twin Peaks, "" The X-Files "undundund ...
The alphabetic sorting by Series title makes sense. The only sensible different collation would have been by genre, but then had a couple of series that can not be so easily classified into categories might like under the table. Unfortunately, the booklet is not as productive as usual on Silva Screen, but still be on each piece a composer, duration, orchestra, Conductor, etc. and at any volume production country and period, usually known as number of episodes and protagonists.
The 4CD Box comes in standard 4CD Jewel Case.
Conclusion: So low you can not get to an otherwise so well put together CD with TV Themes. Of course the music is missing to a few good series, and not all new recordings are perfect, but by and large I can only recommend the 4 CD Box.
