Whether someone Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Motorola, HTC, Samsung, LG, etc. favors, is a matter of taste; Every phone has its pros and cons.
I could in the meantime already test many handsets of different brands, and then switch the phone again when I am not convinced of this.
This I will keep for a long time, because as described at the outset, I am very satisfied with this mobile phone; it is very suitable for everyday use mobile phone with huge endurance and many functions.
Even though I now see between the Motorola KRZR K3 KRZR K1 and so the review is to be understood not only as a comparison between the two phones, but also relates to mobile phones of other brands, even if I do not get into that in more detail here, in order not to to think outside the box.
The K3 is true with nearly 300, - Euro no favorable pleasure, but who, for example, before the decision is that Motorola KRZR K1 KRZR K3 or take, I advise definitely for K3.. It is worthwhile in any case, since the processing compared to K1 is better and the materials (eg. Glass and chrome) are of high quality.
Thus, the outer display can (TFT color display (1.3 ", 120 x 160 resolution, 65,000 colors) at K3 much better read, even in bright sunlight (the internal display - 2.0", 240 x 320 resolution, 262,000 colors is at K3. Both displays are also larger and not as grainy as the K1) become larger, high contrast and have balanced colors.
The Motorola typical menu (some refer to it as frumpy, but I'm so cope very well and because it is dispensed gimmicks just faster when accessing) the K3 is faster, and when you turn the K3 is a little faster.
The K3 is a UMTS-HSDPA phone (HSDPA 3.6 Mbps, EDGE Class 12, GPRS Class 12 - HSUPA is not supported), the GSM network, however, is only a triband (GSM 900/1800/1900) available - that's Motorola unfortunately not typical. Since I do not need a quad-band phone, it does not lead to the devaluation.
The K1 is no UMTS function, but a quad-band (important as long as it is needed for Europe a triband is quite enough).
The K3 has in comparison with other UMTS phones the better UMTS throughputs; This is important because when the phone is used as a data modem for a notebook and times must be used as a substitute for domestic DSL - an appropriate data option but you should already have booked with the network provider, otherwise the mobile phone bill is expensive.
The only thing I did not like so much the K3 is the speaker - when playing music above makes use of the mobile TV function, for example, Vodafone, then sometimes clatters a little, through the headphones, but it fits.
And the voice quality when making calls is the K3 pleasant and stronger than in K1, but also in general compared to Nokia phones I feel this way.
When battery life, the K1 has a little ahead - call for daily use (10 minutes, texting and surfing briefly on the Internet holds the KRZR K3 (Battery: 910 mAh Li-Ion) whopping seven days by, taking with me UMTS / HSDPA almost always off), but through the micro-USB port allows both batteries for example. Charging via the PC / notebook.
Under> Networks> settings, the frequency band can, incidentally, set as follows:> Automatic> 1900> 900/1800> Europe and> WCDMA 2100th
Legendary is still the memory every 5 minutes of missed calls or unread SMS - so does not need to constantly look at the screen is that the outside indicating the time - by the way, unlike the Nokia 8800 moves across the display and so can not burn, as is the case with the Nokia 8800 / was.
The external keys can now be automatically locked, so will not be executed by pressing keys accidentally unintentional functions, this feature can also be disabled.
Two cameras, the phone has, incidentally, also, one with a resolution of 1600 x 1200 pixels, and one for video calling.
Bluetooth (incl. A2DP for stereo transmission to the Bluetooth headset), the K3 also on board.
The included software Phone Tools for the PC is very easy to use, and the Rough Guides on the phone very useful for traveling across Europe. With information about the most interesting cities in Europe, including screen maps for easy navigation (no GPS is not on board, and, unfortunately, no radio - but that I do not need and have it not really used in my Nokia 8800).
Very good I think the IMAP client that works properly next to the also existing POP client; ActiveSync (Exchange) supporting the K3 way also. And the SAR value of 0.45 W / kg is also very good (and for an UMTS phone), as Sony Ericsson can make up a lot - those are true beam weapons. Who is sensitive to electromagnetic pollution, is well advised with this mobile phone.
The included protective case I find great, the headphones are sufficient. After all, a 256MB card attached (with SD adapter). When K1 there were still 64 MB. And the best part: the cell phone can be loaded via mini USB ... Although the also has a Nokia E90, but in which it does not work ... ;-(.
Who must often change the micro SD card, which perhaps you do not like that he (but not the battery) must be removed for the battery cover. And the Internet button located directly below the directional pad that can navigate through the menu or SMS writing before being pressed accidentally, but I am in the meantime accustomed and it also happens virtually no longer. If necessary. it makes sense to change the settings for internet access (so that the connection can not be established due to incorrect settings), so here not inadvertently incur costs.
Speaking of the Internet: The firmware of the mobile phones can be through the Internet the way, very easy to update; These things I have already tried and it worked without any problems; if this is in gebrandeteten K3's, however even so, I was not able to test.
I have now scrapped my other phones and use only the K3. Ultimately, also because of the service of Motorola is clearly better. For example, e-mails are extremely quickly answered, plus sound and competent. Since Nokia is still cut off several slices of it and should optimize poach and to learn their service quality, some people of Motorola!
Who is not necessarily fixed to a brand and absolutely a Nokia, LG, Samsung, HTC and Sony Ericsson mobile phone have, but can rely on a cell phone needs, which works fine when it comes to telephony and, furthermore, offers numerous additional functions that should the K3 grab. I would buy the phone at any time.
