For Assize chills, Stéphane Durand-Souffland hears when the criminal trial switches, where the audience suddenly takes another direction, where the fate of the accused is played in a split second during which a shiver runs through the room . These chronicles are very well written and very alive. The author is merciless to some lawyers, members of the prosecution or presidents, but it can also be respectful to the address or the know-how of great presidents of Courts of Assize or large firms. The book reads very easily, cutting into 14 chapters, all built the same way (Announcement of trial and crucial day, place, outcome of the case) makes it possible to scale reading. The only complaint one could make to the work is not to draw a lesson from the criminal justice operation revealed by these chronic, but it was not the purpose of the book. In this respect, Peeve was much more engaged.
