FIRST IMPRESSION:
With the Office 365 package gives no actual disk remember how many there maybe other Office versions know, but only a small piece of cardboard with a Product Key.
INSTALLATION:
For the installation you need first of all access to the Internet and a Microsoft account. Who has both, which can start with the download of the Office package. The steps for downloading are fairly well explained on the page, which are likely to hammer out older users well.
Then the installation instructions on the Setup Screen to follow up the invitation to Key input comes. Whoever has successfully completed, which can actually almost get started. I went another step in the installation, as Office was installed as a demo with me. In the meantime, I have an error message getting and had already believed in a crash, but the installation was completed smoothly and I was able to open the program. Whether I had an operator error or whether indeed been a kind of mistake, I can not quite appreciate until today. Overall, the installation went but without major problems and was completed within 20 minutes. The programs may incidentally already be used during the installation (the installation continues in the background).
USER INTERFACE:
I find the interface quite succeeded, and agree to come along well from the beginning. Who knows versions from 2010, which is likely to go the similar safe. Users who use older versions must be incorporated safely Once in the program, but after a short time you know where certain functions are. Should help ensure also the short introduction video and the specially created documents in the respective programs.
In addition, I find the features listed here really useful. Particularly positive the many templates are struck me in Word and PowerPoint. Although they were already included in Office 2010, but the program have brought with me regularly to crash when I tried to download some one. With Office 2013, I had these issues not been. In addition, the templates with a few clicks can be individually adapted.
Anyone who owns a PC / Laptop with Touch surface, which can also be about Office 365 service (since I do not have both, I can this unfortunately do not report)
If I had to Office 365 at this point rate, it would be a perfect score. The user interface appears friendly, tidy and can be operated intuitively after a short time. Likes of the Office packages that I know so far and have used best.
QUESTIONABLE COMPANY POLICY:
With what I still can not get used to really know is the company policy that Microsoft, along with other major manufacturers, now operates. The user must now decide: Do I want to use the program more than a year (but this can do only with a PC) or I want to use Office on multiple PCs? Who decides where the program is limited to one year as a subscription. If time expires and you want to continue using it, then it's back into their pockets.
Sure, who has a small business, etc., which is likely the subscription package to play in the hand, there is usually always switched after one year to the latest software. For private users, I find both software packages do not quite optimal.
Who will be need Outlook, which is almost forced to upgrade to the 365er version, for all other versions do not offer this feature.
Honestly, I just miss the days when there were CDs and it was not bad if you sometimes had to put the PC etc. CD clean, reinstall and installed well or to another PC. Today one has either a subscription on the cheek or have to hope that your own PC not even abschmiert.
Whether Microsoft makes with this policy in the long term friends, I doubt simply times.
For this decision to market its own software, there are of me Kopfschüttel and only 2.5 star.
CONCLUSION:
The new Office cuts a fine figure. The program operates in a stable, installs quickly and has a user-friendly interface.
However, an Internet connection is absolutely necessary for the installation, as supplied with no CD.
As for the marketing - here every user must decide for themselves. Program with no time limit, but only on a PC used or annual subscription, all Office programs, including Outlook and a license for 5 PCs, but can only be used a limited time.
I find both versions not completely convincing.
Overall, I therefore still 4 stars (which it is only that my surface like so much and I'm so super clear)
