4.5 stars - great Amazon offer

Looking for a holiday / travel camera were the criteria for me: robustness / weather protection, compactness of the entire system, image quality to print A3 size, speed camera, auto focus and value for money of the entire system in the foreground.
My Fuji XE-1 satisfies a lot, but not much - just as you go with me to my Sony RX100.
An XT-1 also stood in closer choice, the sheer size of the lenses on backpacking spoke against it, a difference due to the A7 system total price of, apart from the rather slow autofocus.

I know the OMD series, had an M10, know the Bilkdqualität and the capabilities of the system - the Wetterschutzt was missing.

Now I happened the way from the get an OMD M5 Amazon Warehouse deal for fabled 599 incl. 12-50 lens. The camera was there in no time, unfortunately without the original box (Love Amazon team walking determined with original box).

Otherwise one of the camera now sees no use in, no scratches or signs of use, either on camera or on the lens. The current firmware is up-played, all accessories complete and functional. So I save like 300 vs. NP for a "day registration" - great!

The camera itself is in other reviews and various Internet forums already written everything, my personal rating:

+ Compactness of the system, camera with 2 lenses (12-50 and fixed focal length) is small and weighs no 600gr.
+ Great image stabilizer compensates the faint 12-50 quite good
+ Class viewfinder without delay and offset the fast pan (XE-1 viewfinder is much slower)
+ Nice folding screen for ground perspectives without lying in the dust or: Long Exposure with Joby Gorillapod a compact Reiseequippment
+ Image quality up to A3: just really good
+ Personalization options of the controls: buttons and wheels do what I want and not what the developer wants (Sony Nex / Alpha: how it's done!)
+ Faster, sport-compatible in daylight and more accurate autofocus
+ To ISO1600 image is smoking not an issue, thanks to stability I need rarely higher ISO - I can go over time. And there are plenty of compact, affordable (which can not Fuji), bright lenses for m4 / 3 System
+ In comparing two for XE-1 sensationally long battery life and reliable charge level indicator (comes with the XE-1 to fully direct warning empty, and then there's 1 picture in it - or not!)
+ Value of the camera in terms of processing and weather protection - I use the camera like traveling and especially for backpacking in tropical countries are humidity, dust and environmental influences a major problem for me.
+ Design is a matter of taste: I find it simply beautiful, I like the vintage look (even on my XE-1).
+ Warehouse Deal offer is almost sensational: I say, I get nothing else like it at this price
+ The right quiet readout noise and the compactness of the camera and lenses allow the camera and photographer rather discreetly in the environment to be there, I work while traveling not as obvious as "Photographer" and I can mingle with people and situations. - Significantly slower AF in low light compared with the super-fast AF in good light
- Annoying sensitive eye sensor for switching the viewfinder / monitor. Consequence: I got him off and make the change manually by pressing a button. Fuji can do better.
- Customizing options are so incredibly high, that I almost did not find my way without guidance. A vast evil seems nowadays that the Manuals are getting worse. So I have to use Internet forums and experience of other OMD photographers. A more complete Manual is desirable with an increasing abundance of configuration options.
- Love Olys: why you sold 900 cameras without the appropriate lens shade in a box? Saved in the wrong corner and made for search and ordering process takes 10 draufschlagen on the NP and attach the part with.
