When the Wind Blows (Audio CD)

Customer Review

No one was in 1986 probably more appropriate for this thematic soundtrack as Roger Waters. "When the wind blows" fits seamlessly into Waters' dark anti-war epic "The Final Cut" or "Radio KAOS"; for fans of this very special genre, the second page of the soundtrack is therefore a pleasure. In the usual manner Waters made himself together a composed of 10 fragments suite, which holds the mostly instrumental songs with terrific sound effects and film quotes. Outstanding are the two tracks "Folded Flags" and "Towers of Faith", which already provide alone the following year appearing solo album "Radio KAOS" in the shadows.

Evil against falls from my judgment for the entire first page of the LP: five sterile songs in the 80s synth robe without feeling without draft. And yes, even a David Bowie bekleckerte be at that stage not just with glory; his contribution is - considering its own merits - even leaner average. Among other posts by Genesis & Co. I would not even talk. How could cobble together this soundtrack in this way at that time, is a mystery to me to this day - as if someone had tried to marry fire and water.

Waters would have been better off if he had eigearbeitet the two songs "Folded Flags" and "Towers of Faith" in his "Radio KAOS" project; this album would truly benefit, and we do not have to deal with today HUNGARIANS mix and the excess A-side. Full marks for aforementioned songs, no points for the rest, two lean Amazon asterisk bottom line.

(Note: many of the other authors Amazon reviews here seem to the movie with the soundtrack to confuse The film is in fact without restrictions great..)
