For media streaming I need this switch behind my Home Cinema Center and for that he is perfect, especially arranged on one side of the port Inikatoren and all other functions. Since the router is not visible disappears behind the Phono shelf and there is virtually on the head, I can directly see the LEDs without problems thanks to this arrangement.
When the lights were disturbing, they can be shut off by means of a small switch also.
The switch itself is a normal size for a 8port switch but by the design slightly larger area than alternatives, but bearable.
Since my old 5port Std switch no media streaming (or UPnP / DLNA transfer) permits, I'm looking for these low cost 8-port switch and decided to stream (using Philips TV 9000 series) works as before (there came a D- Link router to use, but no longer works now). Since the switch has no management, you also have to adjust anything, what the price benefit and less experienced users to also caters.
Although Managbare switches (eg. Cisco SD series) can also UPnP (a / auschaltbar), but costs at least. Twice.
As an alternative to a switch could also be at a reasonable router access (eg. TP-Link), because there are at this price but usually no 8 ports.
For those who are looking for a media-enabled switch with many ports, the Linksys is right here, so full marks.
