The book has a lot of valuable - especially practical - Tips in stock - for the Pro Tools beginners as well as some advanced.
The PT beginners, the book solid in the handling as the music / audio production with Pro Tools (with a strong focus on music production, recording, since the author is himself a passionate musician) and the included demo sessions provide real "hands-on" to experiment and listening - topics such as mastering are treated less deep.
However, it noted that some more modern features such as Pro Tools concepts were not there yet (eg 64bit / SMP, Elastic Audio or its "predecessor" -> "Beat Detective") and are therefore not treated. Notes on hardware selection are of course only partly to use (for example, SCSI is to DAWs long been "out"), although the evidence can be explained fundamentally and thus still giving the more experienced PC / Mac users filfreiche notes.
Especially the many practical "more timeless" tips make the book until today valuable to most readers from the target group.
