From Mozart's Sonatas I was done long ago. Unlike Schubert, Haydn and Beethoven, of course, it was for many years I found it hard to find adequate recordings. Ship, Gieseking, Uchida Perahia etc. I found it very nice, but not awesome. In Haskil and Pires made me feel very much convinced, but I was looking for but more lively versions.
In Gulda am I come across after I mostly did not like his Beeethoven sonatas. And then as a swing, a fireworks display, in which the piano still singing, not shaking.
If something is to be called a virtuoso, then Gulda Mozart. I can highly recommend this recording - at least they should be heard before making any purchasing decisions.
