Our Dyson said goodbye with a last cough and was quick at first, the idea was born, to buy a new vacuum cleaner and bring the old to the recycling center. BUT: Internet goodness I stumbled across a video that shows how to replace the motor. Seen done: expanded engine and immediately wondered what on such a massive part actually can break! Ultimately, only the brushes was worn and apparently crumbled after 10 years daily use may the be. I have therefore bought the brushes here and lo and behold - the Dyson running again as the first day! The installation worked perfectly. The parts were accurately and precisely because of contact where it should be. By the way I have the entire Dyson completely disassembled and cleaned to remove the old coal dust and grime of recent years but there are very helpful videos. Conclusion: Instead of spending hundreds of euros for a new vacuum cleaner and a lot of "garbage" to produce, I have to now about 20 and about two hours almost new investment a vacuum cleaner. This is sustainability! Thank machines Devils!
