I finished it yesterday and what not disappointed. I was wary out of fear did Martin Might Be pulling a Jordan on us - you know, writing in 1000 pages with no content, but this fear what unreasonable. Things happen in this book, oh yes. No huge battles but a lot of character Developments, intrigues and Murder and you learn a lot of the history of Westeros in countless small anecdotes and stories from the characters, Which I personally found very satisfying (War at the Stepstones, Blood Raven etc) I Only Hope That Dance with Dragons comes out 2006/2007 and NOT 2010 the five years we had to wait for this book. Which brings me to two minor points of critisicm: Five years waiting for this book - Which is only a "half ones" - was too long. I understand Martin's reason to cut it in half but He should have taken one more character in the book to make bigger. It has 680 pages and Merely - though it is great to read it - one is left with the feeling, "That was all?" Then, the cliffhangers at the end - sorry Mr Martin but this was a bit cheap. After waiting so long for this book You Could at least bring it to a satisfying end like you did with the other ones (examples: Game of Thrones ended with THE KING IN THE NORTH !, Clash of Kings with the Battle for Kings Landing and storm of Swords with many furious finale like Stannis Breaking the Wildsling victories and others. This ending here - it hangs suspended in midair And that is neither very professional nor fair from you for your fans. I would not complain if the next installment came out in a couple of months but it is known how long it takes you to write and to wait four or more years on the solution is not good (Dance with Dragons Which is announced for 2006 - Which I will not bring the solution doubt- Because it wants to focus on other characters. So we have to wait for the book after it to know what happened with Queen Cersei, Brienne and Arya) Hmm thesis minor points have taken quite long to write and I realize for myself thatthey are indeed troubling me. I really hope you are able to finish Dance with Dragons in 2006 Mr Martin then I might glue the two volumes together Because They Should be one book not two.
