"An Academic Question" is my first book by Barbara Pym; and I, it seems, my poorly chosen title - not least as the fact that B. Pym has not had time to finish his book and the version presented here is a formatting manuscripts of the author by her friend Hazel Holt. In the preface, although we recognize that we are not dealing with a masterpiece, nor one of the best Pym.
Anyway, I have not been seduced: unsympathetic characters, story without interest, several untracked slopes plot, very little humor ... not bad writing or unpleasant, but without relief. I will read another book by the author before me a definitive opinion about Barbara Pym, but in any case I would not recommend it.
