A gentle zooming is due to the mechanical 2-stage switch a challenge

I have a SONY HDR-PJ 780 and a Manfrotto 595B Fig Rig Camera Stabilizer. For vibration-free operation of the camera, a remote control (FB) is required, which can be attached to the frame and also works reliably in sunlight (ie no IR-FB). The Sony FB works at the SONY HDR-PJ 780 with corresponding adapter cable. However, a smooth zooming is a challenge (best would be a push rocker switch in the quality and functionality as on the camera) due to the mechanical 2-stage switch. The attachment of the Sony FB with the clamp to the Fig Rig is not optimally possible.
The performance of the Sony FB has not convinced me. Who but a cable FB required and may waive smooth zooming, then the Sony FB is at the price just right.
