I found the author of this biographical study, while not knocking us from personal convictions and nonsense based on "hearsay" sufficiently explicit and detailed. He actually studied the case of Oscar Wilde; and has even compared his prison sentence (which today is more than a hundred years), by transposing, firstly in the 50s, and then in 1995, with new laws on relations between adults and minors consenting, and, of course, with homosexuality at the time that these days, on a general appearance. The case of Oscar Wilde that dissects the author, in the manner of a police investigation, is, therefore, in addition to being quite precise and concise in its development, a source of intelligence and information on manners , prejudices and mentality of an elite class of English society of the late nineteenth century; class that condemns too easily upset anyone by being politically correct. In summary, because they had a culprit, Oscar Wilde has paid the price for his daring and frankness in his writings being the victim of their own wrongs and demons! It's so much easier to blame someone who is ready to sacrifice himself for his beliefs! Unfortunately, for this condemnation, Oscar Wilde has lost everything; and his family, and his friends, and his loves. However, his writings, themselves, have not been lost, and came to us for our pleasure.
