And the second part is just as good as the first. Both games have a gripping story that can captivate a real.
And now I come to a small support for Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 users:
When Max Payne 1 will start after the installation, you will notice one that the background music is not heard. With "MaxPayneSoundPatchv1.12.rar" which you can download, to solve the problem. This file must be decompressed with 7-Zip. On the web pages where you can download the patch, there is also a guide to the patch.
What Max Payne 2 terms, it may happen that when you start the game, can get the following error message: "Max Payne 2 requires a Microsoft DirectX 9.0 compatible Display Adapter Please consult the troubleshooting readme in the installation folder.."
After solving the problem I've been searching in forums. Neither the compatibility mode for Win98, the installation on hard drive C had solved the problem. And I have Direct X 11th
The solution in my case, I found out about a englischesprachiges Steam Forum was totally banal:
In the folder where the file "MaxPayne2.exe" is, there is a subfolder named "e2driver". In this folder I copied the 2 dll files and inserted into the main folder where the earlier mentioned exe.Datei is.
Then I tried to start the game and it worked like a charm. The window with the graphics options appeared and clicked on "play".
I hope that this assistance for other Windows 8 / 8.1 - User prove to be useful.
