Customer Review

First I read Vargas and I am not disappointed. A real writing, a working style and colorful Commissioner Adamsberg. It has finally thrillers where only intrigue account and where investigators are lifeless and sexless. Adamsberg fights against his demons, 3 in total. He seeks the demon of his adolescence, Judge Fulgence, a perpetrator with a trident, where the brother of the commissioner will be suspected. Another demon: Camille, the woman of his life after he left and he still runs. Third demon alcohol.
So this is a story combining crime story, a plot of half a century, and intimate life Adamsberg we Tale Fred Vargas. And it holds the road well. I had seen before adaptation, almost faithful to the TV, this book and I could not help but put the face of Jean-Hugues Anglade on Adamsberg and it does not hurt the case.
A small flat, an overdose of "speaking Quebecois" in the mouth of our transatlantic cousins. For some Quebecois, their sentences are not riddled with local expressions and it often happens that they speak in the same language as us. An unnecessary escalation in this book that annoyed me at times.
