I wanted no 3D TV. Why spend money on technology that I would not use at home? But then I have seen in a friend something that excited me: Dual Play. Couple playing on a TV Xbox360, but everyone sees the full screen? Here's an idea. If I wanted to have immediately.
After much research I decided on the above mentioned Philips. Here are my experiences with it:
1) Shipping
As always super fast through Amazon. With you there's just nothing to complain about.
2) Design
The television looks incredibly good! The thin, brushed silver frame makes an incredibly sophisticated look, the base in the same color is very stable, and the television is on it safely.
3) Delivery
It's annoying that other than the remote control and cables not really know what is there. Not even 3D glasses where other manufacturers certainly give to that. For this makes the remote control a very good impression, it fits comfortably in your hand and is not cluttered with buttons.
4) Equipment
For built-in receiver, I can nothing to say, I use my HD receiver. With the built was much grumbling, but honestly people: Those who expect at a TV in this price range a good, built-in receiver? Since my receiver HD + on Recording accepts everything, I can not comment on the technological content, I have not even tried. For the TV has built-in WLAN and after the software update via USB stick it worked well.
5) Sound
This in turn I testhalber tried. For TV speakers I found the tone ziemich good, but again, must not expect too much you. I use anyway a home theater system.
6) Operation
Here I have to give all the critics right: The service is a disaster. The remote control responds to approximately 85%, are expected to just 100%. The menu navigation is very slow, you press and it takes about half a second to be doing something. Fortunately for me, I need the remote control only for 3D and hiring, the internal receiver yes I do not use.
Also in Smart TV, the problems become noticeable: navigating through the Apps is a pure Anger Management. It reacts everything so slow because I take rather for Tablet. Internet via the TV, I find anyway unnecessary, therefore does not bother me too.
7) Image
This is in my opinion the most important thing on a TV. And since the Philips makes no mistakes! The image is sharp, it creates super deep black, depending on the setting obtained wonderfully natural or other vivid images. Image defects such as blurred motion, Clouding or anything else I can see none. This is not only while watching TV or at BluRays top. On the Xbox360 (tested among others with Far Cry 3) shows the TV dreamlike images! As a casual gamer (with high demands on the image) I was very enthusiastic, I did not think that the Xbox360 still may conjure up images.
For 3D I can not comment due to time constraints. Why, you read below. However: The conversion from 2D to 3D has surprised me. Did not think that this technology is already so mature that I sit with a large, open mouth watching television. Correct 3D images should therefore be quite inspiring.
I can not say enough about the really good picture. But some are determined to wonder when I write this: I unfortunately had to return to TV. The reason there are in point 8:
8) Dual Play
Philips calls the technique 2 Player Full Screen Gaming, I'll play dual say, because it is simpler and shorter. Sorry Philips, this function is in this TV a disaster. Dual Play is with this TV not playable! The Ghosting is so strong that you often do not know which image is one's own and that of another player.
This function was the main reason to buy, Philips has advertised. The implementation is a disaster.
I turned also to the Philips support, which have stated that it would run fine with me. As good as it was going up. I have tried the way attempts Borderlands 2, Far Cry 3 and Halo 4, ie from dark to brightly colored everything. No matter what settings I made in TV and Xbox360, it was no better. I have new high-speed HDMI cable is laid, I tried a direct connection between Xbox360 and TV, have drawn on all the latest updates. As good as it was. Why Philips advertises if the technology does not go better?
That's why the TV went back Thanks again to the best customer service in the world, the Amazon: free pick up device, refunded money. Now have the same TV ordered as the friend of mine, because I know that it will work (we have two of Halo 4 played out without the problems arose, and the TV will cost only half).
Conclusion: A buy recommendation from me receives, who does not attach great importance to service and facilities, but who buys the TV for the actual purpose, namely the image. And that is outstanding in 2D and 3D. In addition, the TV simply looks incredibly good.
But he who is taken with the Dual Play technology: Stay away. This feature is a disaster in the 55PFL5507 / k.
