Unfortunately, I have in the garden a lot of weeds with long taproots, which are difficult to combat. For a long time I have used herbicides. The plant went away also, the process but dragged on for weeks now and I had the impression that yet again developed during the year new plants from the roots or the dying plant has dropped even seed quickly in recent distress. To prevent this and to minimize the use of chemical mace, I've bought the Unkrautstecher of Gardena. With this I am very satisfied. Preferably, so I eliminate weeds with long roots as various dandelion species. Here the Unkrautstecher works very well. For the perfect result you should not, however obliquely pierce the root, but, then tilt the parallel Stecher backwards. The engraver is solidly built and you need have no fear that it gives up. The weed is together long root out leveraged and completely in most cases, but this also depends on the season, the soil conditions and the type of weeds. Actually the term Unkrautstecher is not entirely correct, but it should be called weeds Heber. The parting of the weeds should rather avoid, otherwise the weeds from the rest root grows again. For this reason, the tip of the engraver Weed is not razor sharp, otherwise the roots will be cut and not get leveraged. Less well the Unkrautstecher goes for plants with shallow roots, such as yarrow or plantain. Here you have to start as a rule several times. One can also use well for other purposes the Unkrautstecher. So I do with my holes for solar lamps or for setting small bulbs.
