The slant atmospheric opener "Autoharp" agrees with subtle erotic undertone effective on 42 minutes entertainment and emotional depth of the border zone between trip hop and pop and movie soundtrack one. Relaxed acoustic oddities such as "Waves", "The Magnificent Tree" and "L'odeur Animale", which impresses with its melancholy alternate with goosebumps pop á la "Out Of Sight", which into rock solid "Jackie Cane" and surrealistic Fantasies like "Frosted Flake Wood" and "Pink Fluffy Dinosaurs" from. Subjectively most striking songs are the lacrimal gland stimulating ballad "Vinegar & Salt" and the bleak flashy song "Everytime We Live Together We Die A Bit More". Something like a weak point has not this album. Compared with the successor 'Hooverphonic presents Jackie Cane "this album is clearly string instrument-heavy with less winds.
