A great volume. Very funny before being sentimental.

This is the fifth volume of the saga of Bedwyn. Left for dead at Waterloo, Alleyne Bedwyn was severely injured and lost his memory. He is rescued by a young girl, wanting to strip the corpses left on the battlefield to recover some money, saw he was alive. Here they all left for England to coax the uncle who has custody of jewels: the four women will pose as friends of the family, the one-eyed sergeant they gathered together qu'Alleyne for his valet, and there they all left full of energy, optimism and good humor. For once, the novel is mainly for supporting roles. Certainly, the love story is an important, but especially the omnipresent humor, abducted dialogues and incredible situations that are worth. The four liars never fail to plumb and the scene where they recognize the thief and where they assault him in a church worth its weight in gold! As for Uncle, alone and ill, it is easily seduced by the small team that takes the castle in hand. One supports the kitchen, the other the garden, the third accounts, the last stewardship. The castle comes alive and uncle found a semblance of health among these guests so full of charm. And in the end, everyone will find his place. To read.
