Dance of Death was the second studio album after returning from Bruce. Now there are one or the other, which then considers this album here as equal to total failure, a view that I do not like to share now. The shortcoming of this disc is more likely that they fell in their entirety over Brave New World and also because the more so now history is known, A Matter of Life and Death was a significant increase again. These weaknesses may be located on the moor or a different song. Wildest Dreams is one of the most trivial songs of Iron Maiden at all and does not help here opener, it is after the first song actually rather disappointed. This is followed by Rainmaker, and since it was already disappointed at the entry, it is here supposedly equally bad on. But this is somehow wrong, as Rainmaker has a beautiful melody and actually quite worth hearing comes. Rainmaker would actually have been a nice Einsieg, a kind of appetizer. The song remains average, but significantly better than Wildest Dreams. But due to the order you have supposedly heard two weaker songs and may no longer voted as mild. We forget sometimes this line of thought and leave us a whole on the following piece. No More Lies is at least as good as Blood Brothers, a very outstanding strong song, what wonder, because he comes quite written by Steve Harris. Then there is then a Montsegur not bad, but rather re average shorter song. And here we are again at the original train of thought. 4 songs, two average and one of no consequence since the fall outstanding No More Lies perhaps not on as it deserves the song. Ever falls just at this plate on that the guys around Steve and Bruce obviously more difficult to compose catchier, shorter songs because outstanding are the longer, vertrackteren pieces. The title track is again at its best, of course, back in the tight range nine minutes. And whether you believe it or not, this song is topped. For me Paschendale is both the music and lyrically with the best of what Iron Maiden have released in recent years, and surprise, surprise, again a song that switched on the 10Minutenmarke. But again, I will return to the problem that a few of the other songs then unfortunately the level not uphold so. Gates of Tomorrow, New Frontier and Age of Innocence are all not bad, but nothing super Dolles. In Face in the sand me turn the melody line like it very much. But a big "but" there is still a Ahaeffekt terms of versatility of Iron Maiden. The piece Journeyman is very big tennis. A kind Unplugged but no ballad, played acoustically powerful, with a word class. With the result pane to Iron Maiden have concentrated more on the strengths and left more or less to the shorter songs. Here on Dance of Death, two or three pieces less would leave a much better impression and then would have been worth me 5 stars.
