Hat Full of Stars (Audio CD)

Customer Review

1993 saw Cyndi out this great album and it was the first CD of her that I bought. Your previous things I knew until then only from the radio (I have later also on CD opened up to me). Here I was so excited after the first hearing the single "Who Let in the Rain" the same that I sample listen to the album in the store directly and buy out had. "Has full of stars" has everything, what makes a good pop album: Soulful ballads, feel-good songs, thoughtful title or even something more aggressive pieces. Sound technical uses Cyndi Lauper kinds instruments and the music sounds far as possible handmade. Of course there is a different sound or the gimmick and technical sounds are quite also available, although they are sometimes kept discreet and easily hidden.

That's what I think - comes a little surprise is. But the title has an excellent melody and Cyndi's voice sounds very rough, albeit somewhat withdrawn. Beautiful sound, which is determined by guitars and drums to a beautiful flute sample and a magnificent saxophone intermediate part.

Product of misery - we initiated this title by a march-like drum, then follows a relatively quiet sound with constantly presentem piano and keybord in the background. Especially the chorus has one of the melodies that you can probably hum along smoothly after the first hearing. As always super sung.

Who Let in the Rain - Begins completely calm and relaxed, with only one electronic organ sound. Only gradually being added bass, drums and other elements. The voice of Cyndi also looks extremely relaxed, only towards the end she goes something out of themselves. Top titles.

Lies - The title seems a bit bumpy, which is probably something on basslastigem Sound and the precisely set Klimperelementen. When Cyndi then sings "Do not Tell Me Your Lies" she would not lie to you more. Magnificent intermediate part in the Cyndi so right free border. Weird electric guitars and piano elements do the song the rest.

Broken glass - Magnificent harmonica elements in sound to fast piano and Country sounds. As always class sung by Cyndi with a good background choir. Cool finale, here are Cyndi again Everything.

Sally's pigeons - In the beginning, only the beautiful voice of Cyndi and one imagines, that would have been also a great a capella song. Gradually, then sets a decent sound with strings, piano, etc. and there is a wonderful ballad.

Feels like Christmas - A typical Western and country sound determined this item. The melody and the song spread a comforting feel-good feeling, the title works fine for swaying.

Dear John - Here's again an acoustic guitar sound, but unlike its predecessor title comes here not in a good mood on. Voice and melody sound like a settling of accounts with "Dear John" this probably also carries the offensive in percussion. Some getting used to but then right class.

Like I used to - Beautiful Poptitel with gently sloping sound elements, probably the "good mood" fits into the corner.

Someone like me - The title must be angel wobbles vigorously at the beginning. Pace and sound change between verses and chorus of quiet on fast, powerful and loud. Very good offensive intermediate part with chanting of Cyndi. Actually, the sound is constantly changing during the song and that sounds just super good.

A Part Hate - A flugelhorn initiates this movie dannach follow pan flute sounds and a sound that is reminiscent of African music. Beautiful melody and Super voice of Cyndi. In the end she is accompanied by a great African choir and the title sounds slowly.

Hat Full of Stars - One of Cyndi's best ballads. Super soulful singing with a beautiful dreamy sound.

Although the singles from this album No Mega hits like "Girls just wanna have fun" or "True Colors" were, so the album can easily keep up with its predecessors (in my opinion they even offer). And even after 17 years, the items are still good and always audible.

By the way, I find the artwork of the CD very well. Cyndi sitting on a stone pillar and thoughtfully looking into the sky, this is a beautiful picture of her. I also like that all in black - is finished in white, this is wonderfully melancholic and dreamy.
