A jewel for the German electro-pop

"Frida Gold" is a German pop band (not a singer), which was established in 2008 and 2010 drew attention to himself by a commercial for a mobile operator to the public.
A few months later the song of advertising "Show me how you dance" was released and was able to also establish the same in the German charts. This was followed by the beginning of April 2011, the next Singel and ultimately also the debut album "jewel". What is going on with the music and how the future prospects of the band look so that following review is concerned:

1. "Tomorrow"
Although one can say overall that is dominated in the album of electro-pop, the first song comes along quite rocky and provides a solid opener for this album - no more, no less.

The second Singelauskopplung turns out at the very beginning of the album as one of the higlights. The song is, above all, by a great text, total radio friendly and the harmonica deposits recall Balkan Beat music. In addition, the music video to the song is very well laid out and completes the overall picture.

At least here the use of synthesizers in music falls on what this but never hurts. This song is very bassy and danceable, the chorus is somewhat reminiscent of Kylie Minogue. Overall, a very good up-tempo number.

As the opener it is more rocking again, without losing out on the influence of electronic music. The small problem with the song is that it is too eingänging and unoriginal and especially the chorus quickly begins to nervous.

Despite an English title is still mostly sung in German. Again a very bass-heavy song that also starts very strong but then abschwächelt. One waits in vain practically on the "Undercover" explodes, which is not very conducive to a song.

Only after the first half of the album, there is the first real ballad, but it also has in itself. If you look at the previous title, this song already seems almost lulling slow but prevents dümpelnder to himself bass, that the opposite of the title is effected. Also here, the beautiful voice of the lead singer Alina is very nice to light. Overall, all the elements harmonize beautifully with each other and make the song to another firm favorite of the album, which invites you to dream.

Each album has a slip-up, in this case it is "naked in front of your door." While in "Undercover" still has at least the hope that the song eventually comes out to get out, this song is bored right from the beginning, mainly because it is slower and the melody acts partly disharmonious.

Suddenly in this title in English is increasingly sung in almost every case to repeat the German part of it. To highlight these passages this is not a clever stylistic decision, because that sounds more ridiculous and covers the great message of the song.

Overall, the band "Frida Gold" has enjoyed a really great debut album, in which various styles merge. But in the end, almost all songs bassy electro-pop numbers, follow a basic style in the album. If one allocates the individual reviews each other, so the album gets a fair 4 stars (****), which is very good for a debut of a band. A common complaint is, however, that most of the songs clearly can not decide between ballad and party hit, which is not exactly very beneficial for individual songs. Nevertheless, this will certainly not be the last thing you will hear from this band, because there are many great tracks on the album - after all, both Singelauskopplungen have landed in the German charts. However, the two remain higlights Album Title no. 2 and no.. 8
Overall, the album holds so broadly what the title promises to the buyer.
