Fashionable in management literature is scriptwriting or narrative idea to convey ideas and management methods. The Professor Goldratt has to be one of the initiators of this movement with this very good book about the theory of constraints as a race against time. The story eventually takes over a few things: a plant manager sees his life turned upside down because its leader explains that the constant delays must stop in closing sentence. In one of those rare moments of serendipity, he had an encounter between two old teacher who will put it on the path of radical change in a Socratic and inner quest allowing him to get back on track. What this novel is different? If you manage organizations, whatever their size, you will be in the morning of current senior at night, tossing in his factory and forgetting her marriage, her children.
The aim ultimately is simple, the theory is popularized and accessible writing. And icing on the cake, we are all the heroes of this story.
