History concoct a scenario in Romeo and Juliet, the hero of the book, Tristan, is the son of the chief of Clan and the unofficial heir. It is a rebel who refuses to take over from his father and wants to become American pro soccer player. Heroin Savannah, called Sav, is a hybrid: half-vampire, half-Descending. Hated and humiliated daily by Descendants is the same of the outcast or intended victim prototype. The Ancients (adults Clan) gave instructed their offspring to flee like the plague. Bad luck, Tristan was his best friend in CM1 and overnight, he had to cut ties and suddenly a ditch full of regret and resentment was created.
You can imagine, some information predispose these two heroes to finish together. The story is quite disturbing at first because she has two narrators: Savannah & Tristan. Randomly, we each shared those thoughts. The -: This removes an aura of mystery to Tristan and suddenly we no longer have a headache thinking about what can go through his head. The bonus: You can have two views of the world that the author weaves us here, the view of the hybrid scapegoat and martyr and that of the guy who has it all but who struggles against his fate. They are programmed both to hate because it is not crazy love between Descendants and vampires, because for centuries they have made war!
If you think buying this book have a romantic love story and not with action between the lines, you will be disappointed. In 400 pages, the story recounts the tribulations of two young teenagers, their joys, their sorrows, their revolt and their loves. They seek, look in the corner of the eye, are the foot, tatillonnent. Then they are caught by their heredity. I had a good time, certainly, but it was not enough to erase the chops book. We will start with the characters: My favorite character is Savannah. Why? It is the same picture of sacrificial victim who suffers torment of existence because of its mere existence. Yet I managed to attach myself to this little girl who is looking, seeking its place in the world and who, not finding it, seeks to integrate anyway. Who, though do, is doomed. I recognized her. And I think that's the most important. Then Tristan. I have not really liked the character of Tristan. I find it soft and sometimes annoying to constantly complain. Nevertheless, it was very cute at times and marriage with Savannah is silly but Romance in the reader / drive does not care a bit and sighed with pleasure. I still think that the choice of the double narrative was not good and that the thoughts of Tristan should have remained confidential. There are also a few recurring characters that I enjoyed Anne's best friend a little rough around the edges, and Granny's grandmother hen.
We come to the last 100 pages where the action is concentrated. In any case, there were no outstanding panting, or cold sweats. No, just waiting for the final outcome. I must say I am surprised by the turn of certain elements. The very end was predictable, but not the details. There are also outstanding issues that incite read more and that leaves the reader puzzled (or at least puzzled me). I do not know if I will buy the next volume, but perhaps that curiosity will push me to do so.
I put this book three stars because even though I enjoyed this novel focuses on adolescent crisis, parent / child conflicts, the American high school life, forbidden love and self-discovery, I found this book a bit hollow and very cliché. The characters, although I liked some, were not searched nor transcendent and the plot itself boring. Moreover, I found that there were still a few lengths and unnecessary passages. However, I had a good weekend with this book in hand, he brought me a little levity.
What there to remember this long pad is: Read it if you are nostalgic for High School Musical, you want to read the umpteenth revival of Romeo and Juliet but with witches and vampires, or if you want to read a nice book and especially do not want to be surprised or upset.
