True to his previous works, he remains in a light and accessible style, and tells again, a story that could have taken place in the lives of everyone. In And suddenly everything changes, unlike the two previous novels, humor is not present, it is the emotions that govern much of the book.
The story chronicles the daily life of a group of teenagers, a few months to spend their BAC, which go forth to see them, an extremely hard test to overcome. Despite low as they meet, they will have to learn to live with, and think about their future. Even if it is hard, life continues.
Being myself terminally that year, I have fully managed to enter the history and soak up the souls of the various protagonists states. However, some characters seem sorely lacking maturity and ambition, and many more like college tweens only real students. Fortunately, others were well tip the balance, and ostensibly caught them in some respects. The characters panel is varied, Legardinier Gilles has done a remarkable mix of personalities and characters to give a further openness to readers.
Even though I did not particularly attached to the characters, they pleased me and brightened my day. Their good humor, love of life and the penalties they cross are full reflection of events faced by young people of our age.
The story in itself is tragic and double-edged. The death of someone dear to our heart is difficult to overcome, but in the context in which they are students in the final year of high school who live it, it becomes more critical. This is probably one of the first tragedies to which they have to do, and not simple, and their future is also put at stake.
Legardinier Gilles is an author with many facets, very malleable, happens to touch his readers and make them feel many emotions. Unfortunately, I enjoyed this book much less than his previous one, which, in my opinion ample, although less mundane and more eye-catching.
I want to make a small parenthesis to express my feelings on reading the "chapter-bonus", which probably have not one, but with great emotion that brings some life of the author fragments. Small troubling anecdotes, if not sadly emotional and endearing, which have much snatched and moved me that the story itself. A forthcoming autobiography, why not?
And suddenly everything changes, despite its sad side, you will discover life as you've never seen. Between laughter, tears and sorrows, Gilles Legardinier takes us again to a round-up, which will return you literally.
