The writing is a bit confusing as we move from one character to another, or earlier of the spirit to another, without notice, following the rarely linear train of thought, memories and impressions. The sensations, the movements of the soul are described with finesse and acuity, including those hesitations and unspoken with whom we complicate our lives and our relationships.
The result is a serious and funny novel, not easy to read (let alone in English given the grammatical structure a bit convoluted and rich vocabulary).
I recommend to open it when we have time and quiet ahead to be able to concentrate well and immerse themselves in the story. A can also be opened when you have a certain maturity to understand the psychology of the characters (and Woolf V): "The advantage of growing old, it's just that the passions remain as strong as before, but that the power that gives life its supreme flavor we acquired the right to take his experiences and rotate slowly to light.
